Public Access Television was created by the Federal Communications Commission to provide each community served by a cable television company an opportunity to take advantage of this technology, by providing a television studio and channels dedicated for community use. This access facility called PEG access is designed to provide information and entertainment in the Public, Education and Government (PEG) community sectors.
