Stoneham TV to Observe World AIDS Day
On December 1, 2011, people from around the world will come together to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. Stoneham TV is proud to take part in raising awareness as well, when on Thursday, December 1st at 5pm, immediately following Democracy Now!, we will air SEEDS of HOPE: Meeting the Challenges of HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia: a five documentary series about HIV/AIDS education and prevention in Ethiopia.
The World Health Organization estimates that there are currently more than 33 million people living with HIV worldwide, many of whom live in Sub-Saharan Africa. In support of the World AIDS Day, Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning filmmaker Dorothy Fadiman is offering her documentary series SEEDS of HOPE to all public access television stations. Though the footage focuses on only Ethiopia, the information is relevant to other countries in Africa, as well as locations throughout the world.
Each documentary in the series conveys a message of empowerment and hope. All are commercial free. The total running time for the series is just under two and a half hours.
